Special Visit 2024|HCIE in France

In the context of increasingly frequent global cultural exchanges, from April 23 to 25, 2024, BAHC Advisory received a delegation from the Hangzhou Cultural and Creative Industry Expo (HCIE) and China Craft Week (CCW), organized a series of visits and meetings with cultural institutions based in Paris, France. This special visit aimed to strengthen cooperation with major cultural institutions in France and further promote cultural exchanges between Europe and Asia.

On April 24, BAHC with HCIE first visited the Palace of Versailles and met Brunel Mathilde, the Head of Marketing and Partnerships of the Palace of Versailles. The two parties engaged in in-depth discussions on future cultural cooperation for the HCIE. We reviewed past successful collaborations (the Versailles team participated in HCIE 2021 and HCIE 2023 at BAHC’s invitation) and explored new areas of cooperation. This meeting injected new energy into cultural exchanges between the two regions and laid a solid foundation for future collaborative projects.

For the second station, BAHC led HCIE team to visit the Paris 20th District City Hall and toured also its public contemporary cultural space Carré de Boudouin. During the meeting with Éric Pliez, Mayor of the 20th District of Paris, and his Deputy for culture, Hamidou SAMAKE, both parties had a lively discussion on the development of cultural industry projects and international exchanges between the two cities. This exchange not only enhanced mutual understanding but also provided new ideas for the future.

For the third station, BAHC led HCIE team visited the ACA project, and had a meeting with Lou Anmella-de Montalembert, the president and co-founder of the ACA project. We explored the possibility of establishing a Hangzhou Cultural and Creative Industry Exchange Centre in Paris, aiming to build bridges to promote cultural exchanges and cooperation between the two regions. This meeting opened new paths for cultural exchanges between the two place and laid the groundwork for future collaboration.

These visit-meetings not only deepened the collaborative relationship between BAHC, delegation from Hangzhou and major art and cultural institutions in France, but also laid the groundwork for future cross-cultural projects. Through deep exchanges with the Palace of Versailles, the 20th District City Hall of Paris, and the ACA project, we look forward to seeing more vibrant cooperative projects in the future.
