HCIE 2023 | Overview

Since 2018, BAHC Advisory established an official international partnership with Hangzhou Cultural and Creative Industry Expo (HCIE).

In this edition after the lockdown, BAHC organized the UK Pavilion and the EU Pavilion. We also invited Natalie Melton, the Executive Director of the Crafts Council UK, and Agathe Renault, the International Partnerships Development Project Manager of the Palace of Versailles, as special guests to attend the opening ceremony of HCIE in Hangzhou in person.

Natalie Melton delivered a compelling speech during the ceremony

Other special guests present in Hangzhou included Stina Söderberg, independent fashion designer; Ana Illueca, the ceramic artist and founder of ADN Cerámico; and Ingrid Monchy, a French artist and graphic designer. They graciously introduced their work and products face-to-face to Chinese visitors.

BAHC Advisory aims to give European and British artists, institutions and local brands a better platform for international communication, while at the same time showcasing the diversity of art styles and historical cultures of different countries for domestic audiences. This cooperation will undoubtedly deepen the relationship between Hangzhou and Europe in the art and culture industry, and promote the common prosperity and development of the art and culture of both places.
